Nurse Practitioner

Adult, Adult-Gerontology, or Family

  • Full-time
  • Hybrid: in person and telehealth

Compensation
$130,000 to $155,000 per year, depending on experience
Schedule
Monday to Friday, with some evenings and Saturdays required

As a nurse practitioner at Doxen Health, you will be an important member of the care team, providing quality care to your own panel of patients through a mix of in-person visits and telehealth. We welcome Adult, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, and Family Nurse Practitioners. The ideal candidate has strong clinical judgment, manages acute and chronic conditions well in both settings, and is efficient with electronic charting.

What you will do

  • Provide comprehensive primary care: annual wellness and preventive visits, acute visits, and chronic disease management, in person or by telehealth
  • Use current evidence-based guidelines to diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions and build person-centered care plans
  • Order and interpret labs and diagnostics; refer to specialists as appropriate and close the loop
  • Prescribe medications, devices, and controlled substances within Arizona law and your Drug Enforcement Administration registration
  • Document with accuracy and completeness in eClinicalWorks, including electronic prescribing and the incoming lab queue
  • Take part in chart reviews and case discussions
  • Direct staff and delegate tasks as appropriate to their scope and training, including delegation to medical assistants
  • Additional duties as directed

Required qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice nurse practitioner program
  • Current Arizona registered nurse license and advanced practice registered nurse license with prescriptive privileges, issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing
  • National board certification as an Adult, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, or Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Drug Enforcement Administration registration for Arizona, and registration with the Arizona Controlled Substances Prescription Monitoring Program
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • Eligibility to credential with Medicare, Arizona Medicaid, and commercial plans
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a nurse practitioner preferred; new graduates will be considered for the right candidate

  • Comfortable in a technology-forward practice environment
  • Experience with office procedures

Physical requirements and work environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and bend throughout the workday in a clinical setting

We are hiring a clinical Medical Assistant who values variety and team collaboration. You will be the first clinical face our patients see on the way to the exam room, and the person who keeps the provider's day moving. While this position focuses on clinical workflows, the ideal candidate can step into front office duties when clinic volume shifts or coverage is needed. This is a founding-team role: you will help set up our rooms, workflows, and electronic health record templates before we open.

Clinical responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms; obtain vital signs, height, weight, waist circumference, medication reconciliation, and intake history, documented in eClinicalWorks
  • Perform hearing and vision screenings
  • Run point-of-care tests, spirometry, and electrocardiograms
  • Collect and process lab specimens; perform phlebotomy and administer injections and medications under direct provider supervision, as these services are offered
  • Review charts to screen for overdue labs, screenings, and care gaps
  • Relay documented results, instructions, and orders from the provider to patients by phone and patient portal
  • Process prescription refill requests per provider protocol
  • Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms; log equipment checks, temperatures, and supply orders

Administrative responsibilities

  • Cover front desk check-in and phones during peak hours, lunches, or planned absences
  • Assist with patient scheduling and registration
  • Obtain and track prior authorizations
  • Manage referrals out and close the loop on reports back; coordinate incoming and outgoing medical records securely
  • Additional duties as directed

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program, or a passing score on the Certified Medical Assistant exam (American Association of Medical Assistants) or the Registered Medical Assistant exam (American Medical Technologists)
  • Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Comfort with electronic health records
  • A passion for delivering quality healthcare and serving the community
  • Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Preferred

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • eClinicalWorks experience
  • At least 6 months of outpatient clinic experience
  • Phlebotomy and injection experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish

Physical requirements and work environment

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking
  • Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment, perform phlebotomy and injections, and type on a computer keyboard
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds; assisting patients with limited mobility on and off exam tables
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, sharps, and infectious materials requiring standard personal protective equipment

As a Patient Services Coordinator at Doxen Health, you will lead our front office and serve as the face of the practice. You will play an important role in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly and creating a positive experience for every patient.

What you will do

  • Greet patients, check them in and out, and keep the lobby welcoming and on time
  • Answer phones and patient portal messages; route clinical questions to the right person
  • Schedule appointments in eClinicalWorks and manage online booking, reminders, and the waitlist
  • Register new patients: demographics, insurance cards, identification, consent and privacy forms
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before each visit; flag referral or authorization requirements
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and balances; reconcile the cash drawer and card payments daily
  • Process medical records requests and incoming faxes, scanning and indexing documents to the right chart
  • Additional duties as directed

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of front desk experience in a medical, dental, or behavioral health office
  • Working knowledge of insurance verification, copays, and deductibles
  • Comfortable with electronic health records, phones, and handling payments
  • Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Calm, friendly, and clear with patients who are frustrated, confused, or not feeling well
